If you couldn’t hold on much longer for news on this year’s guests, you’ll never let go of this announcement! Prepare to open your heart, because Sonic sound director Jun Senoue and rock singer Johnny Gioeli will be making an explosive return to the Summer of Sonic convention as Crush 40!
These guys need absolutely no introduction to Sonic the Hedgehog fans. The dynamic duo are responsible for some of the most memorable theme songs in video game history, from Sonic Adventure’s Open Your Heart to Sonic Adventure 2′s Live & Learn and Sonic Heroes’… erm, Sonic Heroes. The pair have also re-imagined a number of other Sonic themes in the past, and are now branching out with some incredible original material.
They’re truly the rock sound of a Sonic generation, and Jun and Johnny will be present to meet with fans and perform their latest and greatest on stage. In 2010, Crush 40 rocked the Summer of Sonic convention – their second ever live performance and the first outside of Japan – and this year they’re set to do it all over again.
We love Jun Senoue and Johnny Gioeli to bits, and we know you all do too – we’re so excited to have Crush 40 back at the Summer of Sonic, and can’t wait to have them meet you guys and perform for you. Roll on 7th July!

There isn’t an adjective epic enough to describe the fantasticness of this announcement.
Yeeesss, i was worried crush 40 wouldn’t be guests this since they’re also performing at Sonic Boom. Will be really glad to see them performing again. And I half guessed correctly with Jun Senoue, just didn’t guess Johnny would be attending aswell. Also is there any chance Jun Senoue will be performing on his own again like last year and the year before? I love it when he plays some awesome sonic music on his sonic guitar.
On the topic of guests, I just headed over to the Sonic Wrecks website. And one of the articles reveals another guest that will be attending. I won’t spoil it for anybody, and if you don’t want to know don’t read the article.
