Sonic the Comic legends Nigel Kitching and Nigel Dobbyn have been some of our most regular (and most popular) guests to appear at Summer of Sonic. Every year, their desks get swamped with Sonic fans old and new – many of whom want to learn from these masters of mascot storytelling.
Well, for Summer of Sonic 2012 we can happily announce that Nigel Kitching and Nigel Dobbyn will be hosting two Art Masterclass sessions throughout the day. The pair will be sharing their knowledge with a small group of keen fans looking to build on their skills, using past works and live tutorials.
The two sessions will take place downstairs, near the entrance and by the stairs, at 12:00 and 16:00. Each Masterclass will run for 60 minutes, and sessions can accommodate 25 people each.
Because there will be enormous demand for the Art Masterclasses, interested fans will need to book their place for a session.
The 12:00 Art Masterclass is now fully booked.
Places for the second session at 16:00 will be offered on Saturday 7th July, at the Information Desk from 15:00. Please ask at the Information Desk on Saturday to book your place – when spaces are all filled up we will put out a sign so you’re aware of any full bookings.
It’s not every day that you get the chance to be intimately tutored by legendary comic artists. Enjoy drawing Sonic and friends with the help of Nigel Kitching and Nigel Dobbyn!

Tracey and Ian are not attending the convention this year.
Oh man this sounds so cool! Would we have to bring our own pencils and such?

Nigel drew super sonic for me so grateful for it too I wish I could draw that brilliantly in a matter of seconds it tajes me a good while to perfect my pics….: )
