FIFTH International Sonic Convention - July 7 - Brighton, UK

URGENT UPDATE: Summer Of Sonic 2012 LOCATION

Eggman Strikes!
Unfortunately due to an electrical fault the Hove Centre is unavailable for Summer of Sonic 2012.
But never fear, for our blue spiny hero has moved at Sonic Speed to set up shop at the Brighton Centre, facing the Seafront only a short journey away.
The entrance will be on Russell Road. Please spread the word!
We are incredibly sorry for this last minute change, but the safety of everyone coming to the convention is our first priority.

UPDATES:
A shuttle bus service will be in operation from 9am (running every 30 minutes) to transport attendees from Hove Train Station to the Brighton Centre, and from the Hove Centre to Brighton Centre.
Shuttle buses will be running from Brighton Centre to Hove Station from 4pm if you need transport back.
There will be no shuttle service running from Brighton Station to the venue as we’ve had to divert one of those buses to help with the venue switchover. HOWEVER, it’s a very short walk from Brighton Station to Brighton Centre.

Our new venue will still fit the same number of people, we will have air con, all guests are still coming, the only change to schedule is art classes being cancelled due to venue constraints.

Everything is still the same schedule? And no changes correct?

    • Katzii says:

If you read the article, you’ll see that everything is the same except the art classes were cancelled.

  4. Tracker_TD says:

Sad to hear about the electrical fault-no problems for me in terms of travel though! Gotta ask though-will this place still hold everyone? :< And still have air conditioning?

  5. Thalia says:

Will there still be a shuttle bus running back to Hove station after the event? And if so at what times/until what time will it run? Sorry to hear about this!

  6. Katiefoxe aka JiaYueHoneyJade says:

*sighs* It’s a shame I’m not going there. Still can you give a shout out to everyone at the SoS that I said, ‘Hi everyone, hope your enjoying the event and having a great time!’

  7. bmn says:

There will be air conditioning at the venue, we can still accommodate ticket holders, all guests are still coming, same date and time. The only change to the schedule is that sadly due to venue constraints we will have to cancel art classes.

  8. Jedge says:

Will there be a shuttle running back to Hove Train Station at the end of the day, as it’s a 38 minute walk, and the last train is at 19:52? and I’ve seen a few people mention that this is the train they are also getting :)

Thanks for the heads up about the situation!

That’s a pity, still, hope everyone gets there OK and you all enjoy yourselves

  12. kimplix says:

air con? well someone red’ed my topic then at last

  13. Dale says:

Do we still turn up at the same time and leave at the same time?

  14. Lily says:

Hi – I am not coming tomorrow but have made all the arrangements for my son as he is disabled and will be accompanied by a carer so I need to pass on all the information to the carer. I have booked their rail tickets leaving 07.11 from Taunton to Hove arriving 11.13 and returning from Hove on the 18.07. My question is (bearing in mind that like everyone he will wish to get to the venue at top Sonic speed!!) if they just miss a shuttle bus do you know if their is a taxi rank outside Hove St. Likewise, when returning to the station what time should they get the shuttle bus whilst being able to spend as much time as possible with Sonic ;) Thanks.

  15. Claire says:

Opposite the seafront…. So AFTER-PARTY ON THE BEACH?!?!

  16. Heaven the Hedgehog says:

As long as the life-stream still be there, im fine :) but im getting nervous too a bit now… hopefully the life-stream link will be posted on this side as soon as possible :) dont wanna miss a second :)

  17. Spikey says:

Man it’s a good job I checked this. Means I can walk here now I’m only staying down the road!! XD

  18. Huge bummer about those cancelled art classes, but thank Tikal it is still on! :D

  19. Yellow says:

You really did a great job switching everything over so quickly… like true Sonic Heroes. ;)

Buuuut… it would have been nice to sign out the way to the new location (as it was said on the note that you put up at Town Hall), or add a copied piece of a map or something, just for the few foreign people who did not check the website one day before the event… like meeeee! Or giving a little more info, like “hey, it’s close to Churchill Shopping Centre” or whatever. ;) Had a hard time finding it without being prepared.

A truly great show this time nonetheless!

    • Yellow says:

… I meant, you should have added a map/hint/whatever to the note at _Town Hall_, not just to the SoS website. ;)
