That’s right! Never Mind the Buzzbombers is coming back to Summer of Sonic – giving you all the chance to win prizes whilst hanging out with some of the Sonic scene’s coolest celebrities! To explain more, I’m handing this update over to Dave ‘Hogfather’ Luty, who has been the charismatic host throughout the many years we’ve staged the quiz. Take it away, Dave!

Well, that’s the literature successfully destroyed, on with the update! Never Mind The Buzzbombers is coming back for its 4th year at SOS. What started off as a friendly quiz has turned into a rather fierce rivalry – one that usually descents into ridicule, mockery, pulling faces at one another and name calling. Intervening seems to result in a reply which simply consists of ‘well, he started it!’
Regulars to SOS will know the deal by now; two teams test their knowledge of Sonic the Hedgehog against one another, in a variety of different rounds and games. By the show’s end, we will hopefully find out just who gets to wear the Sonic trivia crown of 2012. Teams are led by the convention’s creator Svend ‘Dreadknux’ Joscelyne, and the equally personable Adam ‘T-Bird’ Tuff.
We’re delighted to announce two special guests that will be joining our captains this year. Firstly, Steve “S0L†Lycett will put aside working on Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed to answer all manner of questions regarding the franchise. As an executive producer of a Sonic game he should know a lot right? Erm… … Maybe?
Also joining the teams is Buzzbombers veteran, and one part of Crush 40, Johnny Gioeli! Fans who saw 2010’s Buzzbombers will remember how Johnny nearly answered 2 questions correctly, and almost answered everything without getting help from the audience. And how he repeatedly sang during the entire quiz. Because he’s Johnny Gioeli. It’s what he does.
And of course, two Summer of Sonic attendees will be plucked straight from the audience to join us on stage for fun and games – as well as the chance to win something nice!
So, if you think you know your Sonic facts and trivia, you’d better head to the main stage at 12:00 when it all kicks off. It might just be you sat alongside Steve and Johnny, putting your Sonic knowledge to the test (as we spend the bulk of the show mocking Dreadknux & T-Bird on just about everything we possibly can)!
